Nineteen-year old CeCe Mackenzie leaves Virginia for Nashville with not much more to her name than a guitar, a Walker Hound named Hank Junior and an old car she'd inherited from her grandma called Gertrude. But Gertrude ends up on the side of I-40 in flames, and Nashville has never seemed farther away. Help arrives in the form of two Georgia football players headed for the Nashville dream as well. When Holden Ashford and Thomas Franklin stop to offer CeCe and Hank Junior a ride, fate may just give a nod to serendipity and meant to be.
I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This is honestly one of the thinnest book I have ever read, and I finished it within an hour. But I really do love it. I think that this is one of those books that you should read during road trips. It’s light, fun with a little hint of romance. Basically, Cece and her dog got stranded in the middle of the road to Nashville, after her car exploded (yeah, no kidding. It went BOOOM). Saved by two different guys, Holden and Thomas, she kinda had the time of her life.
If you think that this is a love triangle, I would say UH NO or at least, I don’t think so? This is only Part One of the whole story, but so far, it is quite obvious that only one of them holds Cece’s interest. Like I said though, this book is more fun for the sun kind of book. It was super short though. I do want to read the next book, like I really really do. But I guess I was hoping for moreeeee. Not that this book was bad, no it wasn’t. I just wished it wasn’t quite as short xD
But yes, pick this up, especially if you don’t wanna read some heavy-plot book, and just wanna settle on something that will make you laugh. 🙂
