Drama and danger abound in this fantasy realm where dukes play a game for the throne, magical warriors race to find the missing heir, and romance blossoms where it is least expected.
In a world where dukes plot their way to the throne, a Performer’s life can get tricky. And in Johanna Von Arlo’s case, it can be fatal. Expelled from her troupe after her father’s death, Johanna is forced to work for the handsome Lord Rafael DeSilva. Too bad they don’t get along. But while Johanna’s father’s death was deemed an accident, the Keepers aren’t so sure.
The Keepers, a race of people with magical abilities, are on a quest to find the princess—the same princess who is supposed to be dead and whose throne the dukes are fighting over. But they aren’t the only ones looking for her. And in the wake of their search, murdered girls keep turning up—girls who look exactly like the princess, and exactly like Johanna.
With dukes, Keepers, and a killer all after the princess, Johanna finds herself caught up in political machinations for the throne, threats on her life, and an unexpected romance that could change everything.

THIS BOOK IS SO GOOOOOD. And amazing, and I just want to hug it to my chest. I only have ONE concern and it’s teeny tiny, but other than that, I LOVE this book.

I have to admit, the teeny tiny problem I had was with the point of view, but I guess that was before I got to know the characters. So when the next chapter was another character, in which I have no knowledge about, I was a little bit annoyed. BUT after a while, I actually enjoyed ALL the characters’ point of views. But yes, of course my favorite were Rafi and Johanna’s interactions, because EEEEEK so cute. HAHAHA.

What you should look forward in this book:

  • Family ties, really strong family ties between siblings which I definitely like
  • A love-hate relationship which always get me excited
  • TWO love-hate relationships actually, but I shall not tell you who the other couple is HEHE
  • MAGIC (do you really need another reason?)
  • Deaths and destruction, it. will. shatter. your. heart. (I’m sorry? HEHE)

One thing I definitely LOVE about this book was the writing, especially during the storyspinner scenes. I especially look forward to those scenes, because each story, each song dripped with SO MUCH emotions that I can feel myself absorbing them in. It’s like BECKY WALLACE IS THE STORYSPINNER. I had so much emotions raging through me, throughout the entire book, and nearing the end, I was already gripping the edge of my chair. And yes, I totally rushed through this book with my heart in my throat, because I wanna make sure my babies-ahem, I mean, the characters were safe.

So, does anyone know when the next book will be out? BECAUSE THAT IS PRE-ORDER MATERIAL. HMPH.
